A release specifies that institutions such as the Ministry of Culture, the National Service for Protected Natural Areas (Sernanp), the Municipality of Machu Picchu, and the private sector must guarantee health protocols.
Visitors must maintain social distancing of up to two meters (among groups), wear face masks, as well as face shields when boarding vehicle units, and bring alcohol-based hand sanitizers.
Machu Picchu will have a reduced capacity for compliance with biosafety measures. Based on what was announced, only a maximum of 675 people a day will be allowed to enter the area —a measure to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
