The Peruvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the World Trade Institute (WTI) of Switzerland's University of Bern signed a letter of intent in order to establish channels of cooperation between both institutions.

The signing of the above-mentioned document seeks to strengthen the training of Peruvian State officials in international trade and investment.

Foreign Affairs Minister Ana Cecilia Gervasi inked this important document along with the former Chair of the Appellate Body of the World Trade Organization (WTO), Dr. Peter Van den Bossche, who currently serves as WTI Director of Studies.

This letter of intention is framed by the Foreign Affairs Ministry's commitment to improve capacities and knowledge of Peruvian State officials in issues involving rights and policies on international trade, as well as investment regulation.

During the activity, Gervasi and Van den Bossche discussed multilateralism, international trade, as well as the progress made in the negotiations and reforms of the World Trade Organization (WTO).
