The
Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Sunday reported that it has executed 98.3% of its budget for the fiscal year 2021, thus becoming one of the Executive Branch sectors with the highest budget execution rates.
According to the government department, this percentage places it among the sectors with the highest budget execution rates at the Central Government entity level, along with Development and Social Inclusion, as well as Labor and Employment Promotion.
Regarding the budget allocated to investment in 2021, it amounted to S/7,660,389 (about US$1.9 million) and accounted for 0.73% of the sector's overall budget.
The execution of the budget allocated to investment in 2021 reached 12%, which is explained by the fact that the procurement of resources took place from the second quarter of the year.
Likewise, this budget execution is explained by the need to meet the deadlines set for procurement processes that are carried out through public calls within the framework of the State Procurement Law.
