The Executive Branch has authorized the trip on an official mission of Economy-Finance Minister Alex Contreras to the United States on February 4-8 to meet with foreign investors.

During the absence, his office will be entrusted to Environment Minister Albina Ruiz.

Supreme Resolution No. 031-2023-PCM, published in the Official Gazette El Peruano on Saturday, indicated that Minister Contreras will attend meetings with foreign investors, as well as with representatives of international asset managers and investment banks in New York City on February 6-7.

According to said document, the Cabinet member will promote the advantages of investing in Peru, as well as disseminate the country's sectoral and regional economic reactivation plans, in addition to its commitment to fiscal consolidation.

The regulation says that, being of national interest, it is necessary to authorize the minister's trip on an official mission, whose expenses linked to airfare and lodging will be assumed by the investment banks that provide advice to Peru.

On the other hand, the expenses for food and transfers will be covered by the Ministry of Economy and Finance's budget.
