Using state-of-the-art technology,
EsSalud intensivist doctors and specialists at the
National University of Engineering (UNI) combined their talent to design a high-end volumetric ventilator to provide respiratory support to COVID-19 patients with moderate to severe symptoms.
The head of the UNI Bioengineering Laboratory, Wilmer Medina, explained that one of the benefits of this first-rate ventilator is that it allows patients to breathe when fully anesthetized.
"Its sensors are sensitive. They are activated and detect the start of the patient's autonomous breathing," he explained.
Medina emphasized that its pieces and parts are of good quality and certified.
The specialist stressed that any doctor connected to the Internet will be able to make suggestions on the parameters and conditions for each patient.
Molinelli estimated that in a short period of time the ventilators will be distributed to EsSalud establishments across the country.
