Peru earned first 3 points in South American World Cup qualifying campaign

Peru soccer team defeated Paraguay 1-0 at home and earned its first three points in the South American World Cup qualifying campaign. This way, Peruvian fans can keep their World Cup dream alive.

The only goal of the game was scored by Peruvian side Jefferson Farfan in the 19th minute. 

The Incas, led by Paolo Guerrero, Jefferson Farfan and Claudio Pizarro, tried to reach the goal area since the beginning against a fierce Paraguayan team. 
 
A pinpoint pass by Guerrero to Renato Tapia gave Peru an early sight of goal at the 8th minute of the match, but the midfielder fired a deflected shot that did not yield a score. 

Despite the competitive game, Peru took advantage of the moment to score in the first half.

The victory gives Peru three points in this World Cup qualifying, while the Paraguayan side remains at four.

Peru will meet Brazil in El Salvador, whereas Paraguay will welcome Bolivia in Asuncion in the fourth round of the regional qualifying matches.

Ecuador lead the regional qualifying with nine points, followed by Chile with seven and Uruguay with six.
