Pilar Mazzetti —surgeon and neurologist with vast experience in the public sector— on Thursday resumed her duties as Minister of Health —a position to which she was recently sworn in by new President Francisco Sagasti at the Government Palace in Lima.
Her range of experience in the Executive Branch is wide, since she was also in command of the Ministry of Health between 2004 and 2006, and of the Ministry of Interior between 2006 and 2007.
Dr. Mazzetti has been director of the National Institute of Neurological Sciences; chairwoman of the Peruvian Neurology Society; professor at San Marcos University, (UNMSM), Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP), and San Martin de Porres University (USMP).
