Peru: Country risk at 137 basis points

On March 13-20, Peru's country risk indicator —measured by the EMBIG Peru spread— registered 137 bps, Central Reserve Bank (BCR) has reported.

In the same period, the EMBIG Latin America spread fell 6 bps to 483 bps, amid a context of optimism about US-China trade negotiations.

Interbank interest rate

On March 20, 2019, the interbank interest rate in Soles showed an annual rate of 2.75%, while this rate in US Dollars was 2.25%.

On the same date, the average 90-day corporate prime rate –the interest rate charged by commercial banks to lower risk businesses– in Soles continued declining and registered 4.05%, while the prime rate in US Dollars fell to 3.14%.
