The
reported that it was agreed to establish cooperation channels with Belgium and the Netherlands, which articulate concrete measures and actions by the three countries in the fight against drugs.
The agreement took place within the framework of the visit of Antwerp and Rotterdam mayors, as well as of Belgian Drug Commissioner, to Peru.
These authorities participated in working groups on customs, legal, police, and port matters, along with the related sectors in Peru.
As a result of this meeting,
appointing liaison officers in the capitals of Peru, the Netherlands, and Belgium for the exchange of information was approved, the
Peruvian Foreign Affairs Ministry reported via X (formerly Twitter).
"Similarly, a memorandum of understanding was signed by Belgian Customs and the Peruvian National Superintendence of Tax Administration (Sunat) to jointly combat customs crimes, as well as to strengthen the security of the commercial flow and supply chain between both countries," it concluded.
