The approval of the Pfizer vaccine registry by the General Directorate for Medicines, Input, and Drugs (Digemid) for use in children and adolescents aged 12-17 does not alter the vaccination schedule, Peruvian Health Minister Oscar Ugarte affirmed on Tuesday.

Via Twitter, the Cabinet member indicated that it does allow incorporating minors with comorbidities into the priorities of the National Vaccination Plan.

In the next few days, there will be directives in this regard, Ugarte added.

The rest of children and adolescents between the ages of 12 and 17 will probably be immunized in the fourth quarter of 2021.
