Peru appoints new Ambassador to Israel

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has designated Manuel Jose Antonio Cacho Sousa Velazquez as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Peru to the State of Israel.

The appointment was made official via Supreme Resolution 044-2023-RE, which was published on Thursday in the Official Gazette El Peruano.

The document establishes that credentials and full powers will be extended to the diplomat.

Likewise, the date on which the diplomatic official must take up duties will be set by Ministerial Resolution.


The designation was made in accordance with Section 12 of Article 118 of the Political Constitution of Peru, which establishes the power of the Head of State to appoint Ambassadors and Ministers Plenipotentiary, with the approval of the Council of Ministers, responsible for reporting to Congress.
