Peru: 541 tons of medical supplies distributed in last 15 days

As part of the actions to adequately supply health facilities with PPE across the country, the Ministry of Health (Minsa) has distributed more than 541,642 Kg of medical supplies in the last 15 days.

In total, 12,312,210 personal protective equipment (PPE) units have been dispatched through the National Center for Supply of Strategic Resources in Health (Cenares).

These items included face masks with a filter efficiency of 95%, three-fold surgical masks, and polycarbonate safety glasses.

The ministry also delivered jackets, aprons, pants, overalls, boots, gloves, and hats, among other disposable items needed to face the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic and protect health workers.

The shipment also contained 855,508 medical supplies such as catheters, syringes, disposable lancets, endotracheal suction catheters, and hydrophilic cotton.

Moreover, Minsa —through Cenares— has sent 2,739,630 medicines, 20,228 serological tests, and 14,300 antigenic tests.
