The latest Datum poll revealed on Tuesday that 77% of
Peruvian nationals would vote for new candidates during the
parliamentary elections scheduled for January 26, 2020.
According to the study, published in Peru21 newspaper, 8% of respondents would vote for a repeat candidate, while the remaining 15% did not specify.
On the other hand, the survey indicates that 43% of those polled would vote for a guest candidate, whereas 34% for a member of a political group.
In addition, 34% of respondents said they would vote for a center candidate, 18% for a conservative right-wing candidate, 10% for a conservative left-wing candidate, 7% for a radical right-wing candidate, and 5% for a radical left-wing candidate.
When asked about which political group should remain in Congress, 15% of respondents said Accion Popular, followed by
Fuerza Popular—FP (5%) and Partido Morado (5%).
4% of those surveyed mentioned Alianza para el Progreso—APP and Frente Amplio—FA, 3% expressed support for Partido Popular Cristiano—PPC and Partido Aprista—APRA, while 2% followed suit for Democracia Directa and Vamos Peru.
