Tonight Peru’s top soccer striker, Paolo Guerrero, could become the foreign top scorer in the history of Corinthians (Brazil) soccer team.

The striker is “one goal away” from becoming the ‘Timao’ maximum foreign gunner.

Tonight his team will face the Once Caldas (Colombia) in a Copa Libertadores game.

If he scores, this would turn the Peruvian star into the ‘top goal scorer in the Timao history’ in 104 years.

Guerrero has scored 45 goals. Argentinian Carlos Tevez reached 46 between 2005 and 2006.

Tevez managed to score in 78 games, while Guerrero did it 45 times with a total 113 games playing for Corinthians.

Guerrero is still undecided, whether he will remain in the team after the season is over, due to economic reasons.

Days ago, former Corinthians star, Ronaldo, urged the team’s management to renew the Peruvian player’s contract.

Corinthians will face Once Caldas tonight at the Arena Corinthians stadium in Sao Paulo. The match starts at 10:00 PM (local time).
