Other venues and fields to be revamped for Lima 2019

14:20 | Lima, Feb. 14.

Five other sports venues and fields will be refurbished for the Lima 2019 Pan American and Parapan American Games to be held in July and September this year.

These works are part of the second addendum to the Pan American and Parapan American Village contract signed between Besco-Besalco consortium and the Special Project for the Preparation and Development of the XVIII Pan American and Parapan American Games within the framework of the G2G Agreement with the United Kingdom.

The deadline to complete the refurbishment and improvement works is 5 months.

Eduardo Dibos Dammert Coliseum —the venue for the basketball and 3x3 basketball competitions— will be rehabilitated and refurbished under this agreement.

Likewise, rehabilitation works will be carried out at Satelite Village in Callao-based Naval Academy.

The agreement includes the improvement and expansion of Capitan FAP Jose Abelardo Quiñones Gonzales Shooting Range.

On the other hand, sports fields will be built at Costa Verde Park. Said areas will be devoted to beach volleyball, skateboarding, BMX, speed skating, and road cycling, among others.

Lima's Chorrillos Military Academy —the venue for the modern pentathlon competition— will undergo rehabilitation works as well.

The place includes Mariscal Caceres Coliseum, where weightlifting and bodybuilding competitions will take place.

It should be noted the five largest projects for Lima 2019 —the Pan American and Parapan American Village, the Andres Avelino Caceres Sports Complex in Villa Maria del Triunfo, the National Sports Village - VIDENA, the Callao Regional Sports Village, and the Villa El Salvador Sports Center— are currently in the final stage.
