Nestor Popolizio named Peru's Permanent Representative to UN

Former Foreign Affairs Minister Nestor Popolizio has been appointed Permanent Representative of Peru to the United Nations (UN) in New York, United States.

The appointment was made official by Supreme Resolution No. 163-2019-RE published Thursday in El Peruano official gazette.

Corresponding credentials and full powers shall be issued to Popolizio as provided by the aforementioned document.

Likewise, a ministerial resolution will set the date in which he will assume his duties.

The supreme resolution was inked by President Martin Vizcarra and Foreign Affairs Minister Gustavo Meza-Cuadra.

As is known, Meza-Cuadra was sworn in as Foreign Affairs Minister on October 3. Previously, the diplomat served as Peruvian Ambassador to the United Nations.
