Peru's Health Ministry (Minsa) reported that, through a videoconference, a State-to-State contract was launched between Peru and France for the construction of Antonio Lorena and Sergio E. Bernales Hospitals, in Cusco and Lima, respectively.

The opening speech at the launch of the projects was given by National Health Investment Program (Pronis) General Coordinator Fredy Jordan, who spoke on behalf of Health Minister Pilar Mazzetti.

It must be pointed out that the Ministry of Health (Minsa) has the contractual link with the French Egis-APHP Consortium.

"It is very encouraging to know that these important projects, which will meet international standards due to the assistance, are already underway," Jordan remarked.

"I want to emphasize that there is no intention to privatize the hospitals' assets and services stated in the contract. Now, we all must work to make this knowledge transfer as efficient as possible," he added.

For his part, French Ambassador to Peru Antoine Grassin affirmed that his Embassy will follow the development of the above-mentioned projects.

He also noted that while the official launch was held on Tuesday, the teams and actors in the process have already been working and coordinating for several weeks now.
