The Pan American Torch continues its way across Peru and its burning flame has so far visited 12 cities including Cusco, Juliaca, Puno, Moquegua, Arequipa, Nazca, Ica, Ayacucho, Huancayo, Cerro de Pasco, Huanuco, and Tingo Maria.
Each city offered the best of itself, including parties, dances, performances and regional art, thus providing moving and unforgettable moments.
The torch relay is currently in Bagua Grande (since July 17) and will make subsequent stops in Piura (July 19), Chiclayo (July 20), Cajamarca (July 21), Trujillo (July 22), Huaraz (July 23), Callao (July 25), before arriving at the National Stadium in Lima on July 26 during the
Pan American Games opening ceremony.
On the other hand, more than a hundred people have served as
torchbearers during the journey.
