Lima 2019: Cuban delegation arrives for Parapan American Games

A first group of 23 Cuban athletes has arrived in Peru to participate at the Lima 2019 Parapan American Games scheduled from August 23 to September 1 in the Peruvian capital.

The Cuban delegation is led by Paralympic swimming champion Lorenzo Perez, gold medalist in the 100m freestyle S6 at Rio 2016 and holder of a swimming world record in the same category.

Perez took gold at the Guadalajara 2011 and Toronto 2015 Pan American Games, too.

The group also includes 6 athletes in Para taekwondo, 3 in Para badminton, 3 in shooting Para sport, 2 in Para cycling, and 1 in wheelchair tennis.

A total of 48 Cuban sportsmen and women will take part in this new edition of the Parapan American Games.
