11:48 | Lima, Feb. 13.

Milan-based Balich Worldwide Shows will stage the opening and closing ceremonies of the Pan American and Parapan American Games at Lima's National Stadium this year. Here are some interesting facts about this production company.

After a three-month competition that saw the participation of 18 of the most reputable national and international companies —in terms of producing ceremonies— the Italian company obtained the highest score.

Balich Worldwide Shows is one of the highly respected firms part of Worldwide Shows Corporation (WSCorp), a global player in the live entertainment and communications industry.

Combining multicultural talents that comprise —in each project— tailored-made international teams, Balich Worldwide Shows has produced live events, large-scale celebrations, new entertainment formats, and several Olympic events.

Celebrating sports

The company has created Olympic Ceremonies for Turin 2006, Sochi 2014, and Rio 2016 (produced by CC2016), which focused on environmental sustainability, in addition to Olympic Flag Hangovers for Salt Lake City 2002 and London 2012.

The creation and production of impressive events, across the five continents, have given the company a wide experience in terms of the ability to represent different cultural backgrounds and environments.

Run by Marco Balich, the company also produced the first permanent show in Italy: "Giudizio Universale—The Last Judgement. Michelangelo and the Secrets of the Sistine Chapel."

Said show reflects the scientific advice of Vatican-based museums. Moreover, it is held every day in Rome and features translation into Spanish.
