WBA female super featherweight champion Kina Malpartida unveiled today her name engraved on the front of Lima’s National Stadium after receiving the Sports Laurels at the class of Grand Cross, Peru's highest sports award.

Kina Malpartida’s Sports Laurels were placed at the top of the National Stadium facade, next to the ones granted to Luis Horna and other Peruvian famous sports figures.

"I am happy to receive the Sports Laurels; it is an honor that my name is engraved in front of the National Stadium. I promise I will continue fighting for my country", said Malpartida after unveiling her name.

The head of the Peruvian Sports Institute (IPD), Arturo Woodman, praised the courage and performance of the Peruvian boxer providing her a memorial trophy and a 50,000 dollar prize for having accomplished such a great achievement.

Malpartida won the WBC super featherweight title against Maureen Shea at Madison Square Garden last February 21.
