Kevin Ortega, Peruvian referee preselected for Qatar 2022

19:07 | Lima, Feb. 25.

With just 1,000 days to go until the 2022 World Cup, FIFA has started to select the group of referees from which the definitive list will be chosen.

The information was confirmed by the South American Football Confederation (Conmebol), which prepared the list of 13 preselected referees.

The Peruvian will strive to be in the definite list of referees who will add justice to the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

Peru places all its hopes in Ortega, since no Peruvian was preselected for the last World Cup (Russia 2018). Diego Haro reached the preselection stage.

The last Peruvian referee that took part in a World Cup was Alberto Tejada, in France 1998. He also participated in USA 1994.

In Brazil 2014, Victor Hugo was chosen substitute referee, but he did not referee any game.
