Schoolchildren from an educational institution in Japan tasted emblematic Peruvian dishes and danced to the rhythm of Marinera —as part of the activities held to commemorate 150 years of diplomatic relations between both countries.

"Lomo Saltado" (Peruvian Beef Stir Fry) and "Guiso de Quinoa" (Quinoa Stew) were the dishes served at lunch for elementary and high school students, Marca Peru reported via social media.

"Regarding the 150 years of diplomatic relations between Japan and Peru, our Peruvian cuisine is part of the menu at elementary schools and high schools in this country. Look how they enjoy our Lomo Saltado and our nutritious Quinoa!" the post reads.

Students happily tasting Peruvian dishes in a dining room, where they have lunch with their teachers, can be watched in a video broadcast by TBS NEWS DIG.

"I can only say that it is very delicious," said one of the students interviewed for the story. "I feel a very enjoyable flavor eating this," he added.

In turn, his tablemate highlighted the similar flavors shared by Japanese and Peruvian food.

The schoolchildren also participated in a Marinera class session —a couple dance representative of Peru.
