The Peruvian Government has decided to create an executive bureau to promote Peru as a destination for filming locations, with the aim of contributing to the
country's economic growth.
It should be noted that the recent release of "
Transformers: Rise of the Beasts," which was shot between August and September 2021 in Peru, has put in the spotlight the country's huge potential in terms of tourism and as a destination for filming locations.
Said movie includes
locations such as Alto Shilcayo, La Union waterfalls, Ahuashiyacu waterfalls, and the district of Shapaja in San Martin region.
On the other hand, among the locations featured in Cusco are the Inca citadel of
Machu Picchu, the fortress of Sacsayhuaman, Cusco's Main Square, the archaeological site of Chinchero, and the Malaga Pass.
Executive Bureau Members
The Executive Bureau for the promotion of Peru as a destination for filming locations is temporary and will be composed of a Chair and representatives of the following institutions:
- The Ministry of Economy and Finance.
- The Ministry of Culture.
- The Ministry of Transportation and Communications.
- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
- The Ministry of Interior.
- The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism.
- Peru's Commission for Promotion of Export and Tourism (PromPeru).
- The National Superintendence of Tax Administration (Sunat).
- The National Service for Natural Areas Protected by the State (Sernanp).
- The National Assembly of Regional Governments (ANGR).
- Peruvian Association of Municipalities (AMPE).
- Peruvian Association of Film Producers (APCP).
- Peruvian Association of Filmmakers (UCP).
- Peruvian Association of Film Companies (AEC Peru).
- Peruvian Association of Cinematographic Photography Authors.
