Five quakes struck Eastern Peru

Five quakes hit Eastern Peru's in one day.

According to the US Geological Survey, a 7.6 M earthquake on the Richter scale hit Eastern Peru’s Madre de Dios region at 17:45:38 (UTC-05:00).
The epicenter was located 169 kilometers (105.01 miles) WNW of Iberia locality belonging to the Tahuamanu province.

A second 7.6 magnitude earthquake occurred at 17:50:52 (UTC-05:00). Its epicenter was located 208 kilometers (129.24 miles) NW of Iberia; this time in the Ucayali region.

A third 4.6 magnitude earthquake once again struck Madre de Dios at 18:44:12 (UTC-05:00), which epicenter was located 181 kilometers (112.46 miles) WNW of Iberia.

A fourth 4.5 M-earthquake hit Ucayali at 18:55:20 (UTC-05:00). Corresponding epicenter was located 189 kilometers (117.43 miles) NW of Iberia.

Finally, a 4.6 M-earthquake hit Madre de Dios at 19:28:16 (UTC-05:00). The epicenter was located 150 kilometers (93.20 miles) WNW of Iberia.

Social media posts claimed the natural phenomenon was also felt in other regions of the country such as Ucayali, San Martín, Cusco, Tacna, Arequipa, Áncash among others, as well as countries: Brazil, Bolivia, Argentina, Chile, Ecuador and Venezuela.

No damage or injury has been reported, Peru State-run National Civil Defense Institute affirmed.
