The world's well-known international brands —such as Kenzo, Gucci, Max Mara, Prada, Viviane Westwood, Scotch & Soda, Tory Burch, and Pinko— have shown interest in participating in Peru Moda and Peru Moda Deco 2019, the Exports and Tourism Promotion Board (PromPeru) has informed.

In this sense, Foreign Trade and Tourism Minister Edgar Vasquez indicated the specialized fashion and decoration business event will take place in Lima on April 10-12.

Out of the 241 exhibitors, 197 are small- and medium-sized enterprises.

According to the official, the business deals might exceed the US$120 million posted last year.

Likewise, Minister Vasquez underlined the importance of big companies' interest in participating in business rounds and exhibitions aimed at finding new products to be added to their catalogs.

"The regions that will be present in this edition are Lima, Arequipa, Cusco, Ayacucho, Junin, Puno, La Libertad, Apurimac, Ica, and Huancavelica regions," he expressed.

It should be noted over 300 foreign buyers from 30 countries will make 3,600 business appointments. More than 1,000 visitors from the United States, Brazil, Argentina, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, South Korea, and Italy are also expected to attend the event.

Sustainable fashion

Peru Moda and Peru Moda Deco's theme this year will be "Believe to be sustainable." It is aimed at calling for reflection on the fashion industry's impact on the environment, as well as presenting an opportunity to prove there is harmony between creativity and conscious design.

Furthermore, the Association of Peruvian Exporters' (Adex) Textile Forum and Sustainable Fashion Forum will take place with the participation of national and international experts.

Peru Moda and Peru Moda Deco are organized by PromPeru with the support of the Foreign Trade and Tourism Ministry (Mincetur), Foreign Affairs Ministry, Adex, Lima Chamber of Commerce (CCL), and National Society of Industries (SNI).
