The Peruvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Saturday commemorated the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between our country and South Korea —nations that consolidated their friendship ties during this time.

Via its official Twitter account, the government agency specified that these bonds are based on the values shared by both countries.

Likewise, it mentioned that the economic relationship gained great momentum thanks to the signing of the Free Trade Agreement in 2011.

Therefore, South Korea became a main destination for Peruvian exports, ranking fourth last year, especially in terms of products such as Superfoods.

"Since 2012, we have been comprehensive strategic partners, which has made it possible to substantially promote political dialogue and cooperation mechanisms in the bilateral and multilateral spheres," another tweet reads.

Peru and South Korea established diplomatic relations on April 1, 1963 —the same ones that have been strengthened over the years.
