Foreign Affairs Minister Cesar Landa has affirmed that Peru will strengthen the social hallmark during its Pro-Tempore Presidency of the Pacific Alliance, which will be passed on by Mexico in Peruvian territory.

In statements to Andina news agency, the government official noted that are shared values in this regional bloc, to be developed in different sectors.

In addition, there is a regional vision into the world —with a perspective on Asia and Europe— to improve trade agreements.

Minister Landa stressed the importance of strengthening the social hallmark of the Pro-Tempore Presidency of the Pacific Alliance during the Peruvian Presidency in the corresponding year.

In addition, he highlighted the shared values of all countries, such as democratic governance, social development sustainability, modern means of communication and technology, including an emphasis mainly on the most vulnerable sectors in the regions.

The Cabinet member explained that the Pacific Alliance is made up of Mexico, Chile, Colombia, and Peru, adding that the bloc also has several observer states, while others have applied for formal membership.

"All the elected governments in Chile, Colombia, Mexico, and Peru have this social approach, especially after the crisis caused by the war and the post-pandemic crisis, to promote fair and equal trade for the benefit of the most vulnerable populations," he stated.

The high-ranking official remarked that the sectors requiring attention are those located in rural areas and the countryside, where there are high levels of poverty and structural inequalities, and where social gaps have to be closed.
