Culture Minister Sonia Guillen and officials of the Deputy Cultural Heritage and Cultural Industries Ministry received a Netflix delegation led by Reed Hastings, CEO and founder of said U.S.-based provider of on-demand streaming media.
At the gathering, they discussed future releases of original productions in Peru —on this platform— and the possible links with the Ministry of Culture and other State-run entities in order to promote the country's audiovisual activity.
Minister Guillen said Peru is making progress in terms film and audiovisual production, and is receiving recognition due to movies that receive important exposure and are spread around the world.
At present, Netflix includes various national productions in its catalogue. Some of them were supported by the Ministry of Culture such as "The Last Hour" and "Daughter of the Lake," as well as by other public institutions like PromPeru: "
Peru, Hidden Treasure," and CONCYTEC: "Pacificum."
