The Peruvian Navy Ship (BAP) Pisco will depart from Callao to the city of Paita (Piura region) on Monday, providing humanitarian aid to regions in northern Peru.
The departure will take place at the Callao Naval Base starting 8:45 a.m.
In addition to the humanitarian aid, the vessel will deliver machines to attend to those affected by the floods triggered by heavy rains in regions such as Piura, Lambayeque, and La Libertad.
The Cabinet member underscored that an Armed Forces airplane carrying 20 water pumps landed in Piura two days ago and another similar number will be delivered along with three backhoes and galvanized steel roof panels.
"BAP Pisco will depart from Callao Naval Base to Paita on Monday (April 10). We are delivering more than 1,000 tons of humanitarian aid and other supplies from different sectors, such as machinery, equipment, and personnel to assist Piura, which is a priority," Chavez remarked.
