Australian Amb: Peru one of most important countries for mining investment

12:36 | Lima, Oct. 19.

Peru, one of the most important countries for mining investment, will show the world its wealth and experience at the International Mining and Resources Conference (IMARC-2022), to be held from November 2 to 4 in Sydney, Australia, said Maree Ringland, Australian Ambassador to Peru.

"Peru is considered one of the most important countries in mining investment worldwide. Within its economy, the contribution of mining to the gross domestic product (GDP) is approximately 11% and represents more than 20% of tax revenues a year," she stated.

Maree Ringland expressed confidence in the positive results that the international conference will have and in the opportunity that the Peruvian delegation will have to show the country's mining potential.

"This conference is one of the most important in the mining industry worldwide and will attract more than 800 companies," she remarked.

It should be noted that the Peruvian delegation will be made up of entrepreneurs and representatives of the State.

In addition, Peru will have a large pavilion, which will showcase various projects and investment possibilities in new mining deposits across the country.

The Australian diplomat remarked that the IMARC-2022 program includes six simultaneous conferences that cover the entire mining value chain with more than 340 technical lectures, discussion panels, and main strategic presentations that will take place over the three days of the event.

Within the range of conferences, Peru will have a special space in the Latin American business block, with Hora Peru —a platform in which Peruvian government authorities and private sector actors will discuss for 60 minutes.

Likewise, the technical lectures will delve into exploration, discovery, and development of projects, mineral processing, digital technology, and mining innovation.
