Accompanied by a large delegation of ministers, government officials and business people, Argentine President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner arrived in Peru tonight on a two-day state visit.
President Fernandez's plane landed at Grupo Aéreo No 8 air base at 21:30 local time.
During her visit, the Argentine leader will attend the signing of a series of cooperation agreements such as the Strategic Partnership, Complementarity and Cooperation Agreement which aims to strengthen government-to-government cooperation in political, social, immigration and trade spheres.
Another agreement to be signed is an administrative agreement on social security, which enables reciprocal portability of social security benefits of migrant workers of the respective states who reside in the other country.
On the occasion of this visit, high-level business people from Peru and Argentina will set up the Binational Business Council for Integration and Investment in order to promote business and trade between both countries.
On Monday, Peruvian President Alan García Perez will host a welcoming ceremony in honor of his Argentine counterpart at the Government Palace's Honor Courtyard at 11:15 am.
At 11:20 am, the two Heads of State will hold a meeting in the Palace's Hall of Ambassadors. Afterwards, at 12:20 pm, Garcia Perez and Fernandez will participate in the signing ceremony of a series of cooperation agreements.
At 19:35, President Alan Garcia will bestow the Grand Cross of the Order "El Sol del Peru" to President Cristina Fernandez at the Golden Hall of the Government Palace.
Finally, at 20:15, the Peruvian leader will host a gala dinner in honor of Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner also at the Government Palace.
