Peru's traditional Great Military Parade on Saturday featured marching detachments representing the Inca country's military and law enforcement institutions.
Oozing "peruvianness," stoic Armed Forces and National Police officers were joined by members of civil organizations like the Volunteer Fire Department, who marched before nearly 30,000 ecstatic spectators.
This year's highlight was the participation of Una Sola Fuerza (A Single Force) Coastal El Niño disaster response campaign representatives, who were welcomed with a much-deserved ovation.
In addition, international delegations from Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Italy and Mexico joined Peru's 196th Independence anniversary parade.
Led by President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski, the patriotic event also saw the presence of the highest civil and military authorities.
