296 Peruvians repatriated on humanitarian flight from Amsterdam

11:55 | Lima, Jun. 26.

The Foreign Affairs Ministry reported that 296 Peruvian nationals have recently been repatriated from 23 countries in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.

The group returned Thursday on a third humanitarian repatriation flight from Amsterdam in the Netherlands.

Their return was possible thanks to the efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its missions abroad.

On March 15, the Government declared a state of national emergency to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), which included measures such as social isolation and compulsory social immobilization.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expects to have repatriated 11,000 Peruvians between June and July.
