A total of 335,649 peruvian workers were included in payroll and this way got a formal labor status, between the months of January and the second half of December of this year, indicated the National Superintendence of Labor Inspection (Sunafil).
To achieve this result different tools were used, among them, those that focus on prevention, such as the application "Verifica Tu Chamba", preventive actions and technical assistance, which are prior to an inspection and that added together, achieved the formalization of 314,295 workers, that is, 94 % of the total.
Meanwhile, the inspection actions were used to a lesser extent and achieved that 21,354 workers entered the payroll, equivalent to 6 % of the total jobs formalized.
“This shows that Sunafil is focused on the preventive approach, which seeks to ensure that the company complies with the rights of workers, rather than starting an inspection and imposing a fine on them,” said the superintendent of Sunafil, Michael Guevara Varela.
Regarding the economic sectors that added the most workers to the payroll, they are Agriculture ( 87,661 ); Real Estate, Business and Rental Services ( 68,779 ); Manufacturing Industries ( 34,077 ); Construction ( 31,119 ); and Wholesale and Retail Trade ( 27,361 ).
Likewise, the regions that added the most workers from January to the second half of December were Metropolitan Lima (236,846), La Libertad (19,378), Piura (15,196), Ica (17,180) and Arequipa (8,952).
Sunafil stated that it will continue to help more workers become formalized and enjoy all their labor rights.
