APEC Peru 2024: Sultan of Brunei Darussalam lands in Peru

Prime Minister Gustavo Adrianzen on Monday morning received the Sultan of Brunei Darussalam, Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, who will participate in the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Leaders' Week, and is also scheduled to make a state visit to Peru.

The Peruvian Cabinet chief arrived at Air Group No. 8 in Callao region, accompanied by Foreign Affairs Ministry authorities, as well as officials from Brunei Darussalam.

Upon landing, Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah was greeted by Prime Minister Adrianzen, with whom he participated in the official ceremony organized for such visits.

The dignitaries received military honors from Peruvian Air Force (FAP) members. Afterwards, they waved to the media.

The leader of Brunei Darussalam is the first to arrive in Peru, with the aim of participating in APEC Leaders' Week, currently underway in Lima.

The Sultan will also make a state visit, during which he is scheduled to meet with President Dina Boluarte, as well as with the heads of Congress, Eduardo Salhuana, and the Judiciary, Javier Arevalo. 


Peru is hosting APEC for the third time after the 2008 and 2016 editions.
