Within the framework of
inaugurated the AWE fairs, to be held at Cerro Juli Convention Center in Arequipa from May 4 to 18 —as part of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum's meetings in the southern city.
Five outstanding entrepreneurs from the
Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) program
will offer a wide range of products to the delegations representing the 21 APEC economies, whose members will have the opportunity to appreciate and acquire unique and high-quality products.
From May 16 to 18, the AWE/American Spaces fair will be held at Centro Cultural Peruano Norteamericano (Peruvian North American Cultural Center) in Arequipa, where 12 female entrepreneurs who graduated from the AWE and DreamBuilder program will provide a wide variety of products to the public.
These events mark the beginning of a series of fairs that will also take place throughout the year in other cities, such as Cusco, Trujillo, Chiclayo, Piura, Huancayo, and Lima.
Led by the U.S. Government, the AWE program has the main objective of empowering female entrepreneurs worldwide, providing them with training, management tools, personalized advice, working capital, and a network of contacts that enable them to grow their businesses sustainably.
Peru is hosting APEC for the third time after the 2008 and 2016 editions.
