Peru: Presidential candidate Charlie Carrasco casts vote

Presidential candidate Charlie Carrasco, representing Partido Demócrata Unido Perú (United Democratic Party of Peru), cast his vote Sunday morning as part of the 2026 general elections.

The aspirant arrived at Rimac School, located in the district of the same name, at around 11:00 a.m. He entered the polling place and voted without any issues.

Carrasco is accompanied on the presidential ticket by Maria Edith Paredes Verdy as first vice-presidential candidate and Wilbert Gabino Segovia Quin as second vice-presidential candidate.

According to the voter registry of the National Registry of Identification and Civil Status (Reniec), more than 27 million Peruvians are eligible to vote at 92,766 polling tables nationwide, in an election that marks the return to a bicameral Congress.

During the 2026 electoral process, voters will choose the next president and vice presidents, 30 national senators, 30 regional senators, 130 deputies, and five representatives to the Andean Parliament.

Voting began nationwide at 7:00 a.m. on Sunday and will continue until 6:00 p.m., during which citizens can head to polling stations to choose the country's new national authorities.
