held the certificate award ceremony for the winners of the Global Korea Scholarship (GKS) 2026 Undergraduate Program, in an event that reaffirmed the educational cooperation ties between Korea and Peru.
The Korean diplomatic mission reported that the event took place on January 29.
It was led by Ambassador Jong-uk Choi, who welcomed the scholarship recipients at the embassy, accompanied by officials, GKS Alumni Association representatives, and relatives of the selected students.
During the ceremony, the ambassador congratulated the students on having earned this prestigious scholarship.
Likewise, the diplomat encouraged them to make the most of their undergraduate education in South Korea.
Similarly, he expressed his hope that, upon completing their studies, they will contribute to Peru's development and become a bridge of cooperation and friendship between the two countries.
The scholarship recipients who will soon travel to South Korea are:
-Milagros Gilian Rondo, a native of Trujillo, who will study Textile Industry at Seoul National University.
-Yosib Ramirez Martinez, from Piura, who will pursue a degree in Mechanical Engineering at Seoul National University.
-Grace Sanchez Villanueva, from Lima, who will pursue studies in International Relations at Pukyong National University.
The GKS 2026 Undergraduate Scholarship offers comprehensive coverage for the selected students.
Its benefits include international airfare, full university tuition coverage, health insurance, Korean language classes, and a monthly stipend to help cover living expenses during their period of academic training in the host country.
