Central Reserve Bank (BCR) Governor Julio Velarde, General Manager Paul Castillo, and Economic Studies Central Manager Adrian Armas have been participating in the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank (WB) held in Washington, D.C., United States.

A plenary session was held on Friday, bringing together representatives of central banks and finance ministries.

IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva said the good news is that global inflation is on the decline and restrictive monetary policies have worked without damaging the economy, but there was no cause for celebration yet.

The BCR governor and senior officials also participated in the International Monetary and Financial Committee.

These meetings —which take place between October 21 and 26— bring together the highest representatives of central banks, finance ministries, other multilateral organizations, public entities, as well as leaders from businesses, organizations, academia, and investors.
