The President of the Republic Dina Boluarte led a meeting with the global CEO of the Aluminum Corporation of China – Chinalco at the Government Palace in the Peruvian capital, Lima.
According to the information provided by the Presidential Office via social media on Monday, they discussed actions related to the mining sector, with the aim of boosting Peruvian economic growth.
Peru's mining Gross Domestic Product (GDP) grew 3% from January to August 2024 compared to the same period last year.
Exports increased 9% in the same period, favored by greater production of gold, silver, tin, molybdenum, lead, and iron, according to the Monthly Mining Statistical Bulletin.
