Peru, through its Ministry of Foreign Affairs, extended its best wishes to Japan on the birthday of Emperor Naruhito, head of state and leader of the Asian country's Imperial Family.

"Peru expresses its most sincere congratulations to Japan on the birthday of His Majesty Emperor Naruhito, wishing him good health and prosperity for the Japanese people —a nation with which we have shared historic ties of friendship for over 150 years," the government agency stated via X on Sunday night.

Additionally, the Foreign Affairs Ministry highlighted the adoption of a Roadmap to strengthen the Strategic Partnership with Japan for the next 10 years, established last November during the official visit to Peru by Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba.

On behalf of Peru, the Foreign Affairs Ministry also extended greetings to the people and government of Guyana on the 55th anniversary of its independence and the beginning of its republican era.

"On this significant occasion, Peru reaffirms its strong commitment to further strengthening bilateral, regional, and multilateral ties, as well as fostering cooperation for the benefit of our nations," the statement read.
