The
reaffirmed its commitment to fostering sustainable investments in Peru's water and sanitation sector as part of the Global Gateway strategy, which aims to promote cooperation, a fair green transition, inclusive digital transformation, and sustainable economic growth.
Precisely as part of this strategy, the
E.U. in Peru, along with the
Embassy of the Netherlands, recently convened the Water and Sanitation Working Group to encourage dialogue and collaboration between public and private sector stakeholders and to promote sustainable investments in this high-impact development sector.
This platform will help identify opportunities for public-private collaboration and address the challenge of closing investment gaps in potable water and sanitation, both in rural and urban areas.
Likewise, the diplomat emphasized the importance of integrating comprehensive water management and climate change aspects into projects.
"As members of the European Union, we are ready to work with Peru on innovative water and sanitation solution," he stated.

European Union Economic and Trade Section Chief in Peru, Olivier Coupleux, concluded that the Global Gateway initiative presents a unique opportunity to build bridges between Europe and Peru.
"Within this framework, EU member states, European banks, and European companies join forces to propose sustainable and innovative investments in Peru's water and sanitation infrastructure," he stated.
