Over one million foreign tourists visited Peru
Between January and April 2025, Peru welcomed 1,085,228 international tourists, mainly from Chile, the United States, Bolivia, Colombia, and Brazil, the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) highlighted.

This figure represents a 6.7% increase compared to the same period in 2024, with an additional flow of 68,610 foreign tourists, as detailed in the most recent edition of the Monthly Tourism Report.
Likewise, it shows a 74.2% recovery compared to the levels recorded in the first four months of 2019, before the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to the report, the results achieved in the first four months of this year were driven by the arrival of tourists from Chile (263,996), the United States (185,722), Ecuador (89,634), Bolivia (64,727), Colombia (58,397), and Brazil (51,420).
These countries account for 65.7% of the total number of foreign arrivals.
Israel and China
Furthermore, the report shows a significant increase in the arrival of tourists from Israel and China, compared to the results obtained between January and April of last year.
During that period, 7,088 tourists from Israel arrived in Peru, an increase of 280.7% compared to 2024, when Peru recorded the arrival of 1,862 Israelis.
Moreover, during these first four months, the arrival of 15,110 Chinese tourists was recorded, a 39.8% increase over the same period last year.
The report also shows a significant increase, compared to 2019 figures, in tourist arrivals from Guatemala (70.1%), Poland (37.3%), India (23.6%), the Dominican Republic (22.4%), and Costa Rica (12%).
Peru received 3,566 Guatemalans, 4,294 Poles, 3,246 Indians, 3,880 Dominicans, and 7,522 Costa Ricans, specifically in the first four months of the year.
South America
During the same period, the arrival of approximately 578,000 tourists from South America stood out, accounting for 53.2% of all international tourist arrivals.
Next came North America with 241,000 tourists (22.2%), Europe with 172,000 tourists (15.8%), Asia with 53,000 tourists (4.9%), and Central America with 29,000 tourists (2.7%).
The Monthly Tourism Report is a document prepared by Mincetur based on figures obtained by the National Superintendence of Migration, which records the number of foreign tourists entering Peru.
