As July begins, Mancora and Los Organos —two well-known tourist destinations in Talara province, Piura region, northern Peru— are becoming trendy for travelers, thanks to the 2025 Whale Watching Season.
This natural spectacle attracts hundreds of visitors each year, who come to enjoy the passage of humpback whales, in addition to experiencing cultural and gastronomic activities in the area.
In Mancora, whale watching-related activities began on July 1 with a press conference that marked the official launch of the season.
The grand opening is scheduled for July 6 at 10:00 a.m., a time when a significant influx of national and international tourists is expected in this area.
On that day, a gastronomic fair will take place featuring typical regional dishes, along with a handicraft exhibition and artistic performances.
Mancora, considered one of the 100 best beaches in the world, seeks to establish itself as a key destination for responsible marine tourism.
In Los Organos, a program of events has been organized to accompany this season.
On July 11, the Whale Watching Season Opening Festival is scheduled to take place at Miraflores Square, starting at 3:00 p.m.
A day later, on July 12, a recognition ceremony will be held for individuals and institutions committed to marine conservation, at the same location at 3:30 p.m.
Finally, on July 13, the official opening ceremony of the season will take place along with the inaugural boat tour. This event will be held at the artisanal fishing dock of Los Organos, starting at 6:00 a.m.
Both destinations have focused their efforts on promoting a sustainable tourism approach, highlighting the importance of protecting marine biodiversity.
The whale watching season not only represents a natural attraction but also an opportunity to boost the local economy through cultural, gastronomic, and environmental awareness activities.
