Ambassador Maria de Fatima Trigoso Sakuma —a member of the Diplomatic Service of the Republic— was appointed Consul General of Peru to Houston, United States of America.

Supreme Resolution No. 093-2025-RE, published in the Official Gazette El Peruano on Thursday, grants the new consul the corresponding Letters Patent.

Similarly, it specifies that the date on which she will assume her duties will be determined by Deputy Ministerial Resolution.

"The protection and assistance of Peruvian communities abroad is one of the priorities of Peru's foreign policy," the resolution states.

Trigoso Sakuma will replace Minister Counselor Jaime Oswaldo Arrospide Medina —a member of the Diplomatic Service of the Republic— following the conclusion of his appointment as Consul General of Peru to Houston.

Supreme Resolution No. 092-2025-RE orders the cancellation of the corresponding Letters Patent, effective as of the end-of-term date to be set by Deputy-Ministerial Resolution.

Arrospide Medina was appointed to that position on March 28, 2023.

Separately, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs terminated the duties of Gloria Maria Seminario de Hadzopoulos as Honorary Consul of Peru in Athens, Hellenic Republic, with consular jurisdiction in that city.

Supreme Resolution No. 094-2025-RE cancels the corresponding Letters Patent and thanks her for the services rendered to the Nation.

Seminario de Hadzopoulos was appointed to that position on December 12, 1980.
