In Lamas, the high-ranking official visited a women-led company supported by Canada. Likewise, he announced funding for COMPETE, a new C$5 million initiative by Canada's Trade Facilitation Office that prepares women-led SMEs for export activities.
In Shampuyacu, he highlighted his nation's support for climate action led by Indigenous women, announcing C$9.2 million for the Ellas+ Resilientes project by Développement International Desjardins.
In Moyobamba, he observed how Canada promotes market-based models for ecosystem restoration, driving public and private investment in support of water security.
In his final stop in Tarapoto, he met with key actors in the cacao value chain, highlighting CACAO+, a new C$15.15 million project that supports cacao cooperatives through SOCODEVI.
