As part of the celebrations marking the establishment of diplomatic relations between Peru and the Middle Eastern nations of Kuwait, Jordan, and Iraq, a ceremony showcasing a new stamp series and documentary exhibition took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Lima.

It was attended by the Ambassadors of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Maen Salem Masadeh, the State of Kuwait, Talal Rashed Al-Mansour; and the chief of Peru's Postal Services (Serpost), Alexander Infantes.

In his speech, the Peruvian diplomat noted that the stamp series represents an act of cultural diplomacy, reminding us that cooperation with these three countries goes beyond politics and economics, also manifesting in shared art and history, symbolizing the bridges built between our nations.

He added that the choice of Kuwait's Red Fort and Peru's Real Felipe Fortress as symbols in this commemorative issue reflects the strong and enduring nature of the friendship between Peru and the State of Kuwait, with which we celebrate 50 years of diplomatic relations.

The 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Peru and Jordan is also being commemorated, marked by significant milestones such as King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein's visit to Lima in 2012 for the South America–Arab Countries (ASPA) Forum Summit.

In this stamp issue, Caral and Petra were featured, "archaeological testaments of ancient civilizations that remind us that culture unites us beyond geography," Minister Schialer stated.

Lastly, with the Republic of Iraq, 50 years of diplomatic relations are being commemorated, marked by important official visits, such as that of former Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister, Ambassador Jose Beraun, to Baghdad in July 2012.

"The exhibition features the citadel of Chan Chan alongside the majestic Ziggurat of Ur, an emblem of ancient Mesopotamia, reflecting the worldviews of our indigenous peoples, where the human and the divine intertwine," Minister Schialer emphasized.
