The Peruvian mining sector maintains its role as a key driver of national economic growth, consolidating results that reflect its strength and ability to generate development, the Ministry of Energy and Mines (Minem) highlighted.

"Between January and June 2025, the production of the main minerals continued to rise, consolidating Peru's leadership on the global stage," the government agency emphasized.

It noted that, according to Minem's Mining Statistical Bulletin (BEM), the first half of the year saw significant increases in the production of zinc (+13.6%), silver (+9.3%), lead (+7.8%), and copper (+3.5%), consolidating Peru's leading position in the production and export of these metals.

Regarding the figures from May to June this year, notable growth was seen in the production of zinc (+12.5%), gold (+10.4%), lead (+5.2%), copper (+3.6%), and molybdenum (+0.6%).

These results, driven by operational stability and the sector's commitment, translate into higher revenues and greater opportunities for the producing regions.

National copper production rose by 7.1% in June 2025 compared to the same month last year, driven by higher outputs from mining companies such as Minera Las Bambas S.A. (+63.5%) and Minera Chinalco Peru S.A. (+127%).

Moreover, cumulative production as of June 2025 reached 1,336,659 metric tons (MTF), a 3.5% increase compared to the same period in 2024 (1,290,938 MTF).

With respect to national gold production, June 2025 saw a month-on-month 10.4% increase and a 7% rise over the same month last year, mainly due to higher performance by Minera Yanacocha S.R.L. (+83.6%).

As for national zinc production, June 2025 recorded a month-on-month 12.5% rise and a 27.6% increase relative to the same month in 2024, primarily due to higher output from Compañía Minera Antamina S.A.

Concerning national silver production, June 2025 saw a year-on-year increase of 3.9% versus the same month in 2024.

Meanwhile, national lead production in June 2025 recorded a month-on-month 5.2% increase, as well as a 9.6% rise in comparison with the same period last year.
