From August 4 to October 31, nearly 14 million households will be visited across Peru by more than 30,000 census takers, who will cover both urban and rural areas to collect essential information about the reality of each household.
From Lima's Lince district, Moran accompanied a team of census takers on their first door-to-door visits, highlighting the commitment and preparedness of the personnel who will be in charge of this major operation across the national territory.
Collaboration is key
During his visit, the INEI chief emphasized the great importance of the 2025 National Censuses, as they will become the main source of information for designing targeted public policies aimed at improving the entire population's living conditions.
"Today more than ever, it is essential that we all collaborate in this national effort. Let us open our doors with confidence and provide the requested information responsibly. The censuses will help us understand how many we are, where we are, and what we need as a country," Moran emphasized.
Moran issued a renewed call for citizens to actively participate, noting that census personnel are properly identified with a purple vest and cap, a photo ID with a QR code, and an INEI credential, which can be verified on the institute's official website.

A Tool to better understand Peru
The census form includes 67 questions grouped into five sections. It will be completed by a qualified respondent: a person over 18 years of age who normally resides in the household and knows the information of all its members.
The questions allow for gathering valuable information about the location and characteristics of the household, as well as aspects related to health, education, employment, migration, disability, ethnic self-identification, and other key dimensions of the family and social environment.

Confidential information
INEI reminds the public that all information collected during the operation is strictly confidential. Law No. 13248 prohibits its disclosure on an individual basis, even by court order.
Only aggregated statistical results will be published, without any data that could identify individuals or households.
Additionally, INEI guarantees compliance with Law No. 29733 on Personal Data Protection and Article 97 of Supreme Decree No. 043-2001-PCM, which safeguards the security and proper use of census information.
